The Dollywood Partons could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Chris Welch into a win. Instead, the London Werewolves prevailed, 1-0. Welch threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The win belonged to Orlando Mijares in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Vince Isabella took the loss for Dollywood. With the win, the Werewolves hiked their record to 46-32.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Rafael Miranda was at the plate when London scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Werewolves to go in front, 1-0.
London manager Steve Warzecha said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
