The Mexico City Aztecs overcame a pretty good performance by London second baseman Joe Best, beating the Werewolves, 6-5, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Best went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mexico City, at 43-20, is 6 games up in the Southern A West Division.

Mexico City took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Steve Valkenburg hit a clutch grand slam home run to bring Aztecs fans to their feet.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Valkenburg.
