Loss Tarnishes Fine Effort by Fites
The Mexico City Aztecs withstood a fine game by Columbus left fielder Steve Fites at Tony Gwynn Stadium, to upend the Bowsers, 12-7. Fites was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Ken Griffey finished the game for Mexico City and earned his 11th save. Mexico City has an impressive 36-15 record.
