White Deer had no answer for Pueblo Heroes starter Phil Shull, who flummoxed Tropics hitters as the Heroes cruised to victory, 9-1. Shull, the winner, moves to 2-4. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The 5th-place Heroes improved to 18-24.

Chris Hartlaub aided the Pueblo cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the third. For the game, the right fielder went 1-4 with a walk.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Hartlaub.
