Tight Tilt Goes to Lumberjacks, 4-3
|
In a tight contest at Ballpark of White Deer, the Bangor Lumberjacks edged the White Deer Tropics by the score of 4-3. Bangor first baseman Guy Dewey, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Steve Ray recorded the save for Bangor, his 13th of the season. With the win, Bangor goes to 19-21, while the Tropics fall to 20-20.
Bangor used the stroke of Juan Jasso to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Lumberjacks ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Dewey told the Bangor Times.
