In a low-scoring contest between the Columbus Bowsers and the White Deer Tropics, 20-year old left-handed pitcher Oliver Murga proved to be the difference. The Columbus left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Bowsers win. White Deer has now lost 4 consecutive games.
Rich Bondo, who is tied for 6th in the S-A in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bondo contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Columbus up, 1-0.
"Oliver showed what he's made of," said Columbus manager Joe Mills.
