Sam Berger led Kalamazoo to a win over White Deer. The final score was 10-5. The left fielder collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The loss has the Tropics at 9-5.

The Tropics had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Comets going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman Julio Rodriguez came to the plate. Rodriguez hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from White Deer hurler Jon Chouinard. It was Rodriguez's 2nd home run of the year.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Kalamazoo manager Morgan Van Dyke.
