The Bangor Lumberjacks, despite a fine performance by White Deer pitcher Steve Greene, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Bangor. Greene allowed 3 runs over 6.2 innings. Mike Lopez, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Steve Ray earned the save for Bangor, his 2nd of the year.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Lumberjacks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when left fielder Casey Lamb hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Steve Greene and made the score 2-1, Lumberjacks. Lamb went 1-3 with a walk.
"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Lamb.
With the win, Bangor improves its record to 2-3.
