The Fremont Marshalls defeated the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 10-6, at Hedgehogs Ballpark. Fremont was led by 24-year old left fielder Matt Byrd, who was 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs. Picking up the win was Ryan Butler. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The left--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. New Rochelle falls to 12-13.

The Marshalls got a big boost from first baseman Cameron Williams who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Purple Wave hurler Kyle Yearwood. It was his 13th walk of the season and put Fremont on top, 1-0.
