Bruins Dump New Rochelle, 6-4, to Win 5th in a Row
Westwood second baseman Robby Penland contributed significantly to his team's 6-4 win over the New Rochelle Purple Wave. Penland went 2 for 3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bruins. Westwood pitcher Scott Staffieri got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ron Lombardi got the loss. The Purple Wave drop to 11-11 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2026 season.

Tony Thomas had a big 2-run double for the Bruins in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Westwood trailing 4-3 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from fireballing left-hander Ron Lombardi and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bruins ahead, 5-4.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Westwood manager Hasan Raif.
