Palm Springs Makes It 6 Straight with 5-2 Win
|
The Palm Springs Heat faced a tough opponent in Quebec pitcher Cody Fields, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Belmont Park by a final score of 5-2. Fields went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Pat Eisen closed it out for his 2nd save. Quebec falls to 4-3.
Palm Springs used a timely hit from Dave Semones to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Heat ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Palm Springs manager Rogelio Sanchez.
