Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Denver Pilots got the win.
Quebec got a valiant performance from pitcher Justin Hesley, but it wasn't enough to beat the Denver Pilots. Denver won the game, 3-2. Hesley threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Juan Santana got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Denver needed the clutch hitting of Gabriel Crear to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pilots on top, 3-1. For the game, Crear had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Crear told a Denver Today reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
Quebec is now 4-2.
