The Hartford Matadors and Montreal Royals completed their game despite the rain.
A good performance from first baseman Chris Flowers helped the Hartford Matadors defeat the Montreal Royals, 7-4. Flowers was 3-5 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Matadors. Alberto Renteria picked up the win, lifting his record to 13-9 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 4 in 7 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Everton Jackson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Willowbrook, California native Chris Flowers had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Matadors. With Hartford trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Flowers.
The win puts Hartford at 71-70 this season.
