Tailgators Squelch Ghosts Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Chesapeake Tailgators picked up a win at Tailgators Ballpark, knocking off the Laredo Ghosts, 6-0. Starting pitcher Dylan Bibbs was a big reason why. Bibbs, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Manuel Londono recorded the save for Chesapeake, his 8th of the season.
Jimmy Bauer swatted a 3-run home run for Chesapeake in the bottom of the third. The designated hitter went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 4.
"Dylan was throwing free and easy," said Chesapeake manager Dave York.
Chesapeake now sports a record of 63-75.
