Canadiens Edge Lasers, 4-3
|
Montreal and Nashville put this game in the books despite some rain.
The Montreal Canadiens had to overcome a fine effort from Nashville pitcher Ed Jenkins to win, 4-3, at Oilers Ballpark. Jenkins went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs. Jason Keller picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 7-4. Reynaldo Beltran suffered the loss.
Had T.J. Parker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Parker hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Canadiens.
Parker called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
Montreal, with the win, is 46-88.
