Aces Fall Short, 5-4, at Little Rock
|
Quebec designated hitter Tony Baker had a good game, even if his team did not. The Aces dropped a 5-4 decision to Little Rock at Ballpark of Newport News. Baker was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Jason Stoute. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 2. Picking up the save was former first round draft pick Steve Cates.
Tim Wheeler chipped in a 2-run home run for Little Rock in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
In postgame remarks, Wheeler said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
Little Rock now has a record of 67-56 with the win.
