Tailgators Pull Out Late-Game Win, 6-5
|
The Chesapeake Tailgators scored a tight, 6-5 win versus the Montreal Canadiens at Tailgators Ballpark. Chesapeake pitcher Eric Tate held his own in the contest. The misery continues for the Canadiens, who have now dropped 14 in a row.
Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, former first round draft pick Tim Hummel had a chance to be the hero. Montreal pitcher Jim Unknown wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Hummel drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Tailgators had themselves a thrilling win.
"I want us to come out, have fun, hit some balls, and score. We're having a tough time," said , the Montreal manager.
