The Montreal Royals got a stellar effort from pitcher Mike Mudge, helping Montreal score a win over the visiting Hartford Matadors, 3-0. The losing streak for Hartford has now reached 5 games.

Cory Bloodsaw had a big run-scoring double for the Royals in the bottom of the third inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Kory Pullar, who is tied for 8th in the SC with a 3.04 ERA, and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 2-0.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Montreal manager Bobby White.
