The Portland Mad Ants picked up a win at Mad Ants Ballpark, knocking off the Nashville Lasers, 4-2. Starting pitcher Rick Winkler played a key role in the triumph. Winkler got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. With the victory, the Mad Ants upped their record to 60-45.

Jack Guidry had a big 2-run home run for the Mad Ants in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Portland leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Adrian Capell and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Mad Ants on top, 4-0.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Guidry. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
