Montreal turned a good performance from starting pitcher David Tirado into a 6-2 triumph over the Chesapeake Tailgators at Tailgators Ballpark. Tirado, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. The triumph puts Montreal at 50-45 for the season.

Andy Curran had a big 2-run home run for the Royals in the top of the second inning. With Montreal leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Jimmy Miano and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 4-0.

"I executed the game plan," said Tirado.
