Matadors Win Squeaker, 2-1, Over Governors
|
The Little Rock Governors wasted an inspired, 6-inning effort from starter Jason Stoute, falling, 2-1, to the Hartford Matadors at Ballpark of Newport News. The Matadors go to 52-35, putting them first in the Stars Conference West Division.
Hartford used the timely hitting of Roy Blaylock to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Matadors on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Blaylock told the Hartford Times.
