Royals Beat Ghosts, 6-4
|
The Montreal Royals defeated the Laredo Ghosts, 6-4, at Turtles Ballpark. Montreal was led by 25-year old third baseman Ryan Compton, who was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Montreal reliever Ryan Doran picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Frank Robinson was saddled with the loss. With the win, Montreal has a record of 45-41. Laredo falls to 36-50.
Montreal took the lead, 5-4, on Cody Yeager's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Laredo pitcher Frank Robinson in the bottom of the seventh.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Yeager said.
