The Montreal Canadiens trumped the El Paso Chupacabras, 11-6, at Oilers Ballpark. Montreal second baseman Corey Routh was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Wyzard. He tossed 66 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 1 hit. Montreal has run its win streak to 4 straight.

Alan Borrego had a big grand slam home run for the Canadiens in the bottom of the third inning. With Montreal leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a changeup from Victor Figueroa, who is tied for 8th in the SC in wins with 7, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Canadiens on top, 6-1.
