Brian Norfolk pitched well, but the Little Rock Governors still lost the game, falling, 2-1, to the Portland Mad Ants at Mad Ants Ballpark. Dane Roberts was the winner. He's now 6-7. The loser was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Norfolk. Pete Mead earned save number 23 this season.

Portland shortstop Rich Kesterson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Mad Ants ahead, 2-0.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Little Rock manager Felipe Arriaga.

Portland is now 38-44.
