In a low-scoring contest between the Little Rock Governors and the Baxter Springs Marshals, Jason Stoute, who is tied for 10th in the SC in innings pitched with 96.1, proved to be the difference. The Little Rock right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-0 Governors win. The winner was Stoute. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Ricardo Quiroz. Steve Cates earned the save, his 11th, for the Governors.

It could have been a different outcome for Little Rock, had it not been for Juan Alcantara, the 25-year old center fielder . Alcantara contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Little Rock up, 2-0.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Little Rock skipper Felipe Arriaga. "I can't complain."

With the victory, the Governors upped their record to 40-39.
