The Chesapeake-Montreal matchup turned into a slugfest.

Chesapeake left fielder Mike Johnson picked up 4 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Montreal Canadiens, 11-10. The third-place Tailgators are now 42-35, the Canadiens 25-52.

Chesapeake relied on the bat of Cesar Ornelas to get the win. The center fielder produced a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tailgators ahead, 11-7. For the game, Ornelas had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
