McElwain Helps Mad Ants Defeat Canadiens, 10-7
The Portland Mad Ants powered past the Montreal Canadiens, 10-7, at Mad Ants Ballpark. Jonathan McElwain provided some of the pop. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. With the win, Portland goes to 36-39, while the Canadiens fall to 25-50.

With Portland leading 5-0 in the bottom of the second, McElwain came up to bat against Montreal pitcher Chris Nagel. McElwain hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Mad Ants on top, 9-0.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," McElwain told the Portland Observer.
