The Montreal Royals downed the El Paso Chupacabras, 3-0, at Turtles Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Alex Gomez had a lot to do with it. The left-hander, who is tied for 4th in the SC with a 10.5 K/9 rate, handcuffed his opponent all game. Gomez, now 6-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. With the win, Montreal goes to 23-28, while the Chupacabras fall to 29-22.

Brian Hendrix helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Royals.
