Fremont Marshalls pitcher Mike Stack was in fine form, leading his team past the Montreal Canadiens, 10-0. Stack got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed no runs. Fremont is now 23-27, while Montreal is 19-31.
Jerry Jones had a big solo home run for the Marshalls in the top of the second inning. With Fremont leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Nagel and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Marshalls on top, 2-0.
