Saunders Homers Twice in 4-1 Win
The home team gave the crowd at Tailgators Ballpark something to cheer about.

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 27-year old third baseman Jason Saunders, the Chesapeake Tailgators stopped the Montreal Royals, 4-1, in 9 innings. So far in 2023, Chesapeake is 20-26.

Saunders had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 curveball from Ian McSorley, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Tailgators a 4-1 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Saunders.

"Winning's like a fine wine," said Saunders. "It ages well."
