Montreal Rallies for 4-2 Win
|
The Montreal Canadiens faced a tough opponent in Nashville pitcher Arnold Novak, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lasers Ballpark by a final score of 4-2. Novak went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Josh Grady closed the door for Montreal, picking up his 2nd save of the year. Montreal, at 15-20, sits in 4th place in the Stars Conference East Division.
Montreal used a clutch hit from Tim Kilgore to snatch the win. The left fielder belted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Canadiens ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Kilgore told a Montreal Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
