Lasers Beat Ghosts, 7-1
|
The Nashville Lasers defeated the Laredo Ghosts, 7-1, at Lasers Ballpark. Nashville was led by 30-year old right fielder Aaron Jones, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. Jon Olivares, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 3-1. Jaden Melrose earned the save for Nashville, his 1st of the year.
Jones had a key at-bat for Nashville in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Nashville an early 3-1 lead.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Jones. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
Nashville is now 18-9.
