Chesapeake third baseman Curt Stein was sensational. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Quebec beat the Tailgators, 10-4. The Tailgators, at 8-18, have stumbled out of the gate.

Quebec won the game in part because of Rich Simmer. The second baseman ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aces ahead, 7-4. For the game, Simmer had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"I like to lead by example," said Simmer. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
