Nashville Lasers starter Malcolm Slater was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Lubbock Stampede, 3-0. Picking up his 7th save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher John Shannon. The Lasers, now 16-8, have been red hot.

Bobby Rodriguez, who is tied for 8th in the SC with a .941 OPS, took Lubbock hurler Gerardo Lozano deep in the top of the fifth. His solo home run put the Lasers on top, 1-0. In all, Rodriguez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
