Stampede Win Thriller, 4-2
|
Lubbock right fielder Jaime Mendoza helped his team beat the Nashville Lasers, 4-2. Mendoza went 2 for 4 for the Stampede. The loss drops Nashville to 15-8.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Mendoza hit a fastball from Malcolm Freeman for a 2-run home run. The Stampede, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Said losing manager Kenny McElhaney: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
