Riding the 4-hit performance of the 22-year old third baseman Dustin Sheedy, the Little Rock Governors defeated the Laredo Ghosts, 3-2. Little Rock reliever Carlos Tellez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gotam Muthupalaniappan took the loss. Laredo, with the loss, is 5-3.
Little Rock needed the clutch hitting of Alain Arnaud to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Governors on top, 3-2. For the game, Arnaud had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Arnaud after the game.
