Tailgators Pin 6-1 Loss on Laredo
|
Chesapeake took on Laredo in front of a lively crowd.
The Chesapeake Tailgators got a marvelous performance from pitcher Joel Edmondson. The right-hander kept the Laredo offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-1 Chesapeake victory at Tailgators Ballpark. Edmondson got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 2 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. He allowed 1 run.
The Tailgators got an important contribution from catcher Kevin Wynn, who in the bottom of the second hit a slider to right for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Tailgators ahead, 4-0.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Edmondson. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
Chesapeake is now 1-4.
