The Fremont Marshalls claimed a close win over the Montreal Royals, due in large part to Mark Luby. The Fremont right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. Stuart Taylor got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The loss has the Royals at 1-3.

The Royals had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Marshalls going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Dave Reisinger came to the plate. Reisinger hit a run-scoring double on a full count curveball from Montreal hurler Ryan Arntz. It was Reisinger's 1st double of the year.

"We didn't score," said losing manager Bobby White. "That was the problem."
