Canadiens Get Thrilling 8-7 Win
Turtles Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Montreal Canadiens and Montreal Royals.

A good performance from first baseman Jim Wilkes helped the Montreal Canadiens defeat the Montreal Royals, 8-7. Wilkes was 4 for 6 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for the Canadiens. Gabe Lopez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.

The game was all tied up in the top of the 12th, until Wilkes delivered big-time for Montreal, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Brad Murphy. The game-changing hit put the Canadiens on top, 8-7.
