Earthquakes Heading to World Series
Thursday, September 23rd , 2021
While it wasn't a complete mismatch, the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes showed themselves to be the superior team in the League Championship Series, downing the Jacksonville Nationals 4-1.
"Nothing is ever easy in the ABA Rookie League playoffs. Whether you're a favorite or an underdog, you can't take anyone lightly or you'll get burned," said Orlando de Jesus, who was named series MVP after a standout offensive performance.
Ft. Wayne won the final game by a 4-3 count at Nationals Park to clinch its spot in the next round.
They will hope to once again rely on de Jesus there, as he hit .600 with 3 home runs, 8 RBI 4 runs scored during the series.
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates - Buffalo Bellflowers series. Saint Pierre and Miquelon leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
