Tuesday, June 16th , 2020
He may have less experience than most of his ABA College peers, but that didn't slow Matt Blevins down at all in 2020.
At the age of 19, the Nebraska right fielder has been named the winner of the Conference 1 Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .382 batting average and a .509 on-base percentage this year. In 50 games he piled up 65 hits, 6 doubles, 1 triple, 19 home runs, 60 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 48. Paul Tetzloff of the Stanford Cardinals finished second in voting with 19 first place votes, while Ryan Burchett of the Louisville Cardinals finished third.
