Cornhuskers Move on to Elite 8 Tuesday, May 10th , 2022 When the entire season comes down to one game, Brian Brewer said you find out what a team is really about. As it turns out, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Michigan State Spartans 6-4 tonight at Hawks Field in order to win the Sweet 16 and book a place in the next round. "It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Brewer, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about." Brewer hit .583 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Nebraska Cornhuskers will play against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the next round. Georgia Tech won their series against the Miami Hurricanes 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
