5-Hit Blitz by Sanchez Wednesday, April 12th , 2023 The USC Trojans tripped up the Purdue Boilermakers, 16-0. The Trojans were led by Tony Sanchez, their 19-year-old third baseman. Sanchez made life miserable for Purdue pitchers all day, tagging them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Tony Sanchez singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ken Martinez in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Breedlove in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Baughman in the 9th. This year, Sanchez has 14 home runs and a .390 batting average. |
