Sanchez Crushes 3 Homers Against Purdue Wednesday, April 12th , 2023 Fans seated in the bleacher section at Alexander Field were taking cover all day long as Tony Sanchez zeroed in on them, rattling three long blasts off the seats in a display of Herculean power. The big game from the USC third baseman helped the Trojans take the victory, 16-0, over the Purdue Boilermakers. "I told myself not to press on the last one," he told reporters in the postgame press conference. "I knew I couldn't force it -- it has to be a nice easy swing." For the game, he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 10 and scored 4 runs. Tony Sanchez singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Ken Martinez in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Breedlove in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jonathan Baughman in the 9th.
