Martinez Booms 3 out of the Park Sunday, March 10th , 2024 Texas Tech Red Raiders right fielder Victor Martinez sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the West Virginia Mountaineers, Martinez told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Martinez pushed the Red Raiders past the Mountaineers, 17-13. To go along with the homers, he collected 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Martinez told reporters after the game. Victor Martinez flied out in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Corey Moore in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Corey Moore in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Matt Fergurson in the 6th and walked in the 7th. |
