Saturday, April 23rd , 2022
Win or lose, Aaron Williams just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Purdue Boilermakers first baseman went 1-for-4, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 11-3, by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Alexander Field.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Aaron Williams walked in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
This season, Williams has posted a batting average of .356 with 58 hits in 163 at-bats, 8 home runs and 27 RBIs. He has also scored 24 runs, walked 20 times and compiled a .426 OBP.
