Batchelor Homers 3 Times Against Northwestern
Tuesday, March 16th , 2021
Miami Hurricanes shortstop Jesse Batchelor put on a dazzling display of power at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park against the Northwestern Wildcats. In the 17-1 Hurricanes victory, Batchelor penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.

"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Northwestern manager Tommy Nevins said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."

Along with his three home runs, the 19-year-old had 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.

"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Batchelor said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."

Jesse Batchelor hit a solo-shot off Mike Herrera in the 2nd, hit a sac fly in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Eric Rose in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Nick Beaton in the 6th.

Batchelor is currently hitting .353 with 3 home runsand 5 RBIs, while scoring 3 runs.
