Wolverines Schmitt to Miss Year Saturday, March 26th , 2022 The Michigan Wolverines and their fans were rocked today by the news that star closer Jake Schmitt would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Schmitt was hurt in a recent game against the Purdue Boilermakers while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn ulnar collateral ligament. His doctors think that Schmitt will miss about 13 months. In 2022 Schmitt has totaled 5 relief appearances and saved 2.
