Lee Peck Wallops 3 Homers for Boilermakers
Wednesday, March 23rd , 2022
Purdue Boilermakers left fielder Lee Peck sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Northwestern Wildcats, Peck told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Peck pushed the Boilermakers past the Wildcats, 8-3. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Peck told reporters after the game.
Lee Peck struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Dave Watson in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jim Wyatt in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Tom Rodriguez in the 8th.
For the year, Peck has hit at a .444 clip with 17 RBIs, 7 home runs and 11 runs scored.
