Billy Carroll Chosen SL2's #1 Player Saturday, June 10th , 2023 The manager of the Florida Gators said he thinks Billy Carroll is only going to get better as he gets older. He may only be 20, but it will be hard to top the first baseman's 2023 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Conference 2 Most Valuable Player Award. His winning campaign featured a .358 batting average and a .469 on-base percentage this year. In 49 games he piled up 67 hits, 15 doubles, no triples, 16 home runs, 52 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He received 39 first place votes out of a possible 56. Dan Price of the Kansas Jayhawks finished second in voting with 17 first place votes, while Eric Breene of the Kansas State Wildcats finished third.
